Running for President
With a distinguished 14-year career forged in some of the nation’s most demanding law enforcement environments, Joe Lianzo offers a rare combination of frontline experience and steadfast union advocacy. Joe’s journey began on the challenging streets of Jamaica, Queens, in the NYPD's 103rd Precinct, a foundation that prepared him for his subsequent selection to the elite Counterterrorism Critical Response Unit. In this critical role, Joe was entrusted with protecting New York City from its most severe threats, a testament to his skill, discipline, and integrity. In 2016, Joe brought this invaluable experience to the Nassau County Police Department. His leadership qualities were immediately apparent, and it took only three years for his peers in the 6th Precinct to elect him as their PBA Delegate. Recognizing his effective and tireless representation, they elevated him to PBA Trustee in 2021. As a Tier 5 member, Joe’s commitment is demonstrated through his deep involvement in the PBA’s core functions. He is a vital contributor to the Insurance, Health and Safety, and Elections committees, directly shaping the policies that protect our members' careers and well-being. Furthermore, his strategic insight is essential to the PAC 1 and COPE committees, ensuring our collective voice is powerful and respected. This is a record of principled leadership and unwavering dedication to the men and women of the NCPD.

Sean Mulligan
Running for 1st Vice President
With a distinguished 26-year career defined by service, Sean Mulligan is a pillar of experience and institutional knowledge. For the last 15 years, Sean has been a cornerstone of PBA leadership. After serving seven years as a trusted Delegate, he was elected Trustee and then, in 2017, to the crucial board position of Recording Secretary, a role he has held for eight years. In this capacity, he has been instrumental in safeguarding the rights, benefits, and working conditions of every member. Inspired by his wife and three sons, Sean is dedicated to securing the future of the profession for the next generation. He is proudly running with Team Lianzo to bridge experience with new vision, using his extensive relationships and deep understanding of the job to empower new leaders. He is not just running for an office; he is running to protect the job he loves and to ensure the PBA is left in the most capable hands for years to come.

In 2017, Paul elevated his commitment by becoming a Union Representative, where he proved to be a tireless advocate for his peers, protecting their rights and ensuring their voices were heard. A year later, he joined the Political Action Committee (PAC), taking his advocacy to the next level. In this crucial role, he has been instrumental in building relationships with elected officials to advance pro-law enforcement legislation and combat policies that threaten officer safety. Paul Mangione is running for 2nd Vice President to bring his deep-rooted experience and principled advocacy to the entire membership. He understands that the decisions made in Albany and Mineola directly impact the squad room, and he is determined to ensure the PBA’s concerns are always front and center. His mission is to fight for better working conditions, stronger legal protections, and a transparent union that always puts its members first.
